So opens the Way of the Avatar, the official guide-book put out by Origin to help intrepid adventurers through the epic quest that is Ultima IV. I always loved this guide-book; the drawings/maps of the various towns capture the spirit of the Ultima games very well. They're darn nice to look at, too. So when I re-discovered my battered old copy beneath some old game-boxes and realized that it was not long for the world, I decided to scan it into the computer and preserve it digitally. And since all good things should be shared, I decided to make it available to others by putting it online.

The Way of the Avatar is available as an 11 megabyte Adobe PDF file. Because FortuneCity doesn't allow files larger than 10MB on their servers, I had to break it into two pieces. Download the files by clicking the link below, unzip to a temporary directory, run the supplied BAT file to put everything back together, and open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat.
